Rooted in Puerto Rican family traditions, Chicago Mama’s Kitchen brings handcrafted food and lively culinary experiences to gatherings across Chicago. Formerly known as Chicago Empanada Mama, we focus on handmade empanadas, chef-curated Latin menus, and fresh-to-order catering. We ask for 48 hours’ notice for catering orders, giving our team time to prepare food for your meeting, celebration, or private event. Our approach reflects the cooking and hospitality inspired by Mama Rosita’s family table.
Corporate clients can choose our Corporate Lunch Kit, which includes empanadas, arroz con gandules, and a signature side tray. For larger groups, our Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages combine handcrafted empanadas, rice, signature sides, salads, plantain chips, and dip. The Gold package also includes shrimp ceviche. In addition, we prepare boxed meal combinations, party packs, catering trays, roasted pork, stuffed plantains, skewers, and other Puerto Rican favorites.
Beyond catering, we host hands-on empanada-making workshops and mixology experiences for birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorette gatherings, friends, and corporate teams. Guests learn how to prepare fillings, fold and seal empanadas, and mix cocktails with guided instruction and supplies provided for the experience. We welcome groups at our kitchen and can also discuss off-site experiences for homes and workplaces.
